Hey all,

For those of you who don't know much about the Eastside Bass Anglers... we're a noncompetitive club.  Most of our guys already fish tournaments, so we decided to have a club where we could experience fishing just for the fun of it.  We're also a club that helps each other prepare for tournaments.  When we fish a lake, we communicate all day long to help each other learn how to catch fish.  We share information openly (but it stays in the club!!!).

We're doing 3 "Day on the Lake" events this year in addition to 3 other events.  Last year we had GLB's own, Lt. Dan Kimmell guide us on Cass Lake with a midday seminar and lunch.  He really helped us to understand the pre-spawn/spawn patterns on Cass.  Next, we did a day on St. Clair with Wayne Carpenter.  That was another awesome day.  Man, did Wayne ever get us on fish!!!  I caught several 3 and 4lb spawners that day crankin' over spawning areas.  We learned a ton, including how to navigate a rainstorm that suddenly blew in on us.  Thank God for SavePhace!  Our last Day on the Lake event was with Brian McCarter on Kent.  Up until that day, I was pretty skeptical about that lake.  Sure, you hear about all the good bass being caught on Kent, but you could never prove it by me.  Brian is Da Man on Kent for sure.  He guided us and taught us the ins and outs of deep rock fishing.  I can't wait to put more hours in on Kent now and learn it for myself.

It looks like we'll have Dan Kimmel, Wayne Carpenter, and Brian McCarter all back again this year for D.O.L. events.  Can't wait!

I can't say enough about the caliber of guys in our club.  I'm proud to be associated with them and I am rapidly coming to consider them good friends.  You may recognize some of our guys.  Revtro, Yukonjack2, Basscat, Bassplr, SenseiSteve, Bender16v...

One other thing we're hoping to do this year is affiliate with TBF.  We have 4 guys in the club who are willing to become TBF members, so if you're interested in being in a TBF club, we could sure use a couple more to have the minimum of 6.  You don't have to join TBF to fish in our club though.  Our events aren't competitive, so we have a way of keeping the TBF stuff separate for the guys involved with it.

Ammendment:  We now have enough guys and are becoming a TBF club!  You don't have to join TBF to fish with us though, so come and join.  We welcome you.

We feel that we are a unique club.  We all get along great.  We're more about friendships and bettering ourselves as anglers than we are about competing against each other.  We're low key and don't have any of the political junk that sometimes is a part of a large club.  So we hope you'll check us out.  We're a great club for beginners and folks who would like to get their kids involved in fishing.  Wives are welcome to fish our events and so are your kids.

What more can I say about us?  If anyone is ever interested in checking us out, PM me and I'll give you info about our next meeting.  And keep an eye on this board to see what we're all about as we'll be using this forum to communicate as a club.  Thanks again Dan for giving us the space!

You're welcome on all accounts and I'm looking forward to next season as well. Hopefully - great weather at all events with the fish biting like crazy.

Hopefully - the Bass Club boards grows too and helps all us 'growd' ups out ;D

Dan -  kudos for the Board as well.  I will echo all that Revtro posted above.  We welcome everyone who is just looking to fish, or looking to learn.  Feel free to post, or PM us for more information.

I fished with these guys on Ovid this year and had a great time. It was a refreshing change to actually go out and fun fish as I am mainly focused on tournament prep every time I go fishing. With these guys there is no competition going on so it is fun to fish with them and teach some of the guys a few things and learn alot of new things from these guys. A great group for anybody who likes to fish and wants to learn. I am planning my schedule this year just so I can participate more with them.

Quick shout out to Dan - What a board ! Thank you for your most important asset - Your time you took with us this 06. Mucho kudos to Wayne and especially Brian. I plan on spending $$$ through you two mostly because of your giving time to us.

At first we seemed like a bunch a nubies eh ? Then you realized you guys REALLY do know ALOT about fishing !! And being a teacher is just a rewarding as fishing. And so we carry this philosophy on to every member, and what great days we have. This is our group - in a nut shell. And what about the guy who torqued my ear all the way to the store, to the lakes, pretty much casted my lure to that one corner, netted my first tournament bass ... Well bud ... big thanks mostly to you Jack.

Next this message is to anyone wondering about this non-competitive club. If you are thinking about the hours you'll miss as you need to check a lake, or prepare for your next tournament. Go ahead. We won't miss ya. You lost the idea.

Those who do join us - Let me get your next coffee ..... Look to see you on the docks.
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

Thanks Dan for letting us use up some of the space on your board. Should be a great way to get the word out about what we are all about. Looking forward to seeing and fishing with you again in 2007.

Glad to have you along Don.  Our events are finished for the year, but some of us still get together and fish during these last few weeks we have available.  We should be scheduling a meeting soon.  Email me your contact info and I'll add you to the roster and make sure you hear about the next meeting.  My guess is it'll be sometime in November.
