$25,000 Boat, Trailer and Motor to Benefit Relay for Life

FLIPPIN, AR — Emphasizing the importance of individual health awareness, Ranger Boats recently announced that they are providing an 18-and-a-half foot 185VX Boat, trailer and 150 hp Mercury motor for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.

Chances to win the factory-rigged boat will be offered with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. Tickets for the boat drawing are available for a $5 donation and will be distributed in Carroll, Madison, Boone, Marion, Baxter and Fulton Counties at various outlets. The drawing to determine the winner will be held on June 11 during the Relay For Life event in Marion County at the Yellville City Park.

According to officials with the American Cancer Society, this is the second year Ranger has provided a boat. “Last year, the boat brought in over $10,000 in donations in Marion County alone,” says Community Representative Paige Evans. “We are very excited about this year’s contribution and are looking forward to an even more successful event. Ranger Boats is known for its strong family-oriented spirit and their involvement with these events reflects that commitment.”

“At Ranger, we’re committed to the valiant efforts of the American Cancer Society and are excited to work alongside such an valuable organization,” says Randy Hopper, President of Ranger Boats. “Cancer touches so many people, whether through a personal experience or that of a loved one, and that’s why Ranger Boats want to be involved.”

The factory-rigged 185VX represents America’s all-time most popular sized tournament-fishing rig. The total performance design incorporates a wealth of standard features including digital switching, keyless ignition, and a custom matched RangerTrail trailer. Combined with a 150 horsepower outboard from Mercury, this rig is precision matched for quick hole shots and optimum acceleration. Known for its commitment to overall value, Ranger Boats was recently ranked as the Bass Boat With The Highest Customer Satisfaction for a record third straight year by J.D. Power and Associates

The money raised at Relay for Life funds $1.7 million dollars in research at the Arkansas Cancer Research Center, and provides services in communities throughout the state. The American Cancer Society offers a camp for children with cancer, scholarships for childhood cancer survivors, transportation grants for patients, provides education about cancer, services to patients and families and advocacy efforts.
