Title: Belleville Bass in a fall funk!!!
Post by: bigjc on September 25, 2011, 10:11:40 PM
Fished an open on B-ville today...can't believe we missed watching the race for a half dozen bites or so.  Fishing was soooo slow.  Very few teams even weighing fish.  I think only 4 out of 10 teams brought fish to the scales.  We landed two solid keepers for a dismal third place finish.  Lost the good fish at the boat.

Few fish were chasing bait.  No pattern deep, no pattern shallow.  Threw everything but the kitchen sink.  Oh well, guess we should have tried our luck on Cass.

Ah yes...............Belleville Lake in the fall.  See many shad??  What were the water temps??  I am taking Friday off and the weather is calling for 20mph winds out of the WSW.  Was thinking Erie??  Belleville was an option.  Maybe I can fish for some Southern Detroit River Largemouths.  My Canadian spots would be on in the wind.  Was that tournament for the Belleville Tuesday Night Classic??

BD,
seen a few shad, not as many as normal.  Water temps mid 60's.

wow, 20mph WSW that makes for a hairy ride to the North shore.

I am planning on heading out there Saturday after my son's soccer game. I haven't been there since July with my wife. Fall is usually a great time of year on Belleville. The shad usually cycle in population. This could be a down year. Last few have been good with booming shad populations. Usually crankbaiting shad colors is the ticket. Ford Lake will be my other option.

Thanks Champ.  I'll keep that in mind when I go there next week.  Sounds like it hasn't changed much.
