Title: Hunting West Virginia
Post by: 1javelin on October 05, 2011, 11:05:09 PM
So I've been out 3 times now, twice in the pouring rain (even though it wasn't raining either time at home just 10 miles away!!) and once tonight.  I am yet to see a deer while I am sitting and waiting.  I see them when I leave, I see them waiting for me around my truck as I arrive in the dark, and I see them on the road as I drive home.  But, not once have they stepped in front of me in the woods.  Guess they don't trust me to miss this time.  Smart on their part, I've been practicing a lot and they would be in a lot of trouble to bet against me.  It is gorgeous out in the woods here, until you walk 1 mile in the rain in full gear with your bow only to find someone has their truck parked in the middle of the 50 yard wide clearing you found the week before.  That kind of sucked.  Didn't approach him, he was either hunting nearby or sitting in his truck with a gun waiting to do some illegal stuff, so I just left.  I'll post more each time I go out, that is if anyone seems interested in reading them.  I don't fish here yet, so this is my fix.

Me too. I love hear the stories from the outdoors.
