Title: 3rd ( or is it 4th ) Annual Fall Hawg Hunt
Post by: McCarter on September 26, 2006, 04:48:44 PM
This years very popular Fall Hawg Hunt will be held on October 15th.

For those who do not know, the Hawg Hunt is a one day, 2 lake event that Anthony Adams puts on every year.  Basically, you show up and fish for one fish, biggest you can catch on the first lake, and then we weigh them in.  The biggest weight from the first lake wins a side pot for Big Bass.  All weights are recorded, then we trailer to the next lake where we do the same thing.  Keep the biggest fish you can catch and weigh it afterwards.  Another side pot is paid to the team with the biggest fish from lake 2.  But the real money comes from the combined 2 lake total.  SO really, you dont have to catch the biggest fish on either lake to win the main pot.  If Joe Schmo and team weigh in a 4.9 one the first lake and beat your 3.8 but bomb on the next lake and you weigh in another good one, you could easily take home the $$$.  I have seen it happen many times.  No, I have seen it happen once.  But that just goes to show you that it can and does happen.

This years lakes will be Lake Fenton and Lake Ponemah.

Registration will be at the DNR Ramp on Lake Fenton at 6:45 am.

Blast off at 7:30 am / weigh in at 11:00 am

Lunch break and travel time alotted, 1 hour

Meet at DNR ramp at Ponemah Lake at Blast off at Noon / Weigh in at 3:30 pm.

Here is the kicker.  It is $75.00 per team but you can fish with 3 guys to a team.  So for those of you who have 2 friends, it works out well.

90% payback at the ramp.

PB himself :-\'

Anybody need a partner, I would be interested. Do not know anything about either lake but can hold my own on the back deck.
