Title: FLW Fantasy Bass Fishing 2007
Post by: Cheetam on January 23, 2007, 09:35:39 AM
The season begins in February on Lake Travis.  I created a group for anyone that is interested...here's the details:

Compete against your family, friends, co-workers and pro-angler wannabes from across the country during the Wal-Mart FLW Tour events scheduled this year. You'll not only earn bragging rights, you'll also have a chance to win $5,000 cash during every fantasy fishing contest as well as other great prizes including FLW Outdoors memberships, hats, t-shirts and die-cast replica boats. In addition, all contestants will automatically be eligible for the 2007 Grand Prize - an all-expense-paid trip for two to this year's Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship. (Click http://www.flwoutdoors.com/apps/fishingChallenge/index.cfm?t=rules (http://www.flwoutdoors.com/apps/fishingChallenge/index.cfm?t=rules) for official rules).

Remember, you don't need a boat, fishing license or any in-depth knowledge of the Wal-Mart FLW Tour to play the 2007 version of FLW Outdoors Fantasy Fishing Challenge. Nor do you need a big bank account because playing the FLW Outdoors Fantasy Fishing Challenge is absolutely FREE!

To be eligible to participate in the FLW Outdoors Fantasy Fishing Challenge, all you have to do is register (http://www.flwoutdoors.com/apps/fishingChallenge/register.cfm (http://www.flwoutdoors.com/apps/fishingChallenge/register.cfm)). So what are you waiting for? Visit FLWOutdoors.com (http://www.flwoutdoors.com/ (http://www.flwoutdoors.com/)) and start fishing today!

Good point...I've seen sumos eat less at the all-you-can-eat buffet... :o

**Disclaimer...the above statement is in way way intended to offend any sumo bass fisherman that may frequent this site, but, is instead a reference to the massive caloric intake needed to fuel the highly-tuned, athletic physique of said athlete.  This in turn is being used as a baseline to compare the wing/beer intake of McCarter, who is subtly being alluded to as "husky"...

In defense to myself, I must say that the above statement is not completly true.  I have been known to drink more beer in one sitting than most people might drink in a week, but the accusations of me eating a lot is completly false.  I am constantly ridiculed for eating like a bird.  And, i will have you know that i am 'slimming down nicely'.  I have lost 11 lbs and i am almost back down to my playing weight.  Of course by playing weight i mean my video game playing weight.  But non the less, i am getting smaller in diameter.  I will still drink all the beer tho.

Take that you scallywag!

My doctor recently told me that my beer/wing levels were dangerously low.  I dont know how much time i have, but it sounds pretty serious.  Perhaps we should do this soon!

I didn't see this thread until today.  I haven't had much time to go over the site thoroughly.

Over the years I haven't had much interest in any of the "fantasy" sports stuff.  However, a couple of weeks ago FLW Outdoors sent me an e-mail (I am a member) touting their Fantasy Fishing deal.  It also mentioned something about a $5,000 first prize.  That got my attention real quick.  So I checked it out, found out how easy it was to sign up and played my first-ever fantasy sports game...on the deadline day, last Wednesday.  I ended up 19th.  That was easy...but lucky, lucky, lucky.

I must admit that I kept an eye on the tournament daily and the whole process was fun.  It only took a few minutes to sign up and pick my team for a crack at $5,000.  And it didn't cost a thing!

Let's see, the next tourney is at the end of March.  Should I pick all new guys or stick with my original five?  Yelas is always solid, and Stricker is due for a big win.  On the other hand, Robertson...

updated my picks for the next event..  going to work my up from 1360 place or something like that.   look at the bottom of the roster.  there are a bunch of local guys on the list that must have entered the Det river event since they are a no for this event.

I am already part of one other group.  Does anyone know of a way for my one team and picks to be part of 2 different groups?  If not I will set up another username from my home pc tonight.

Last night wife wife found out that "She" had a fantasy team.  She informed me that if she has a team that she wants to do the picks.  her team consisted of.  "give me number 8, 13, 3, 23 and someone in the 60's"  She shouted this across room never seeingany of the names.  Her team actaully turned out pretty good!

I made the top 20 in fantasy fishing this week......I missed the 5 grand by 40 points......AAAAAAARGH!  That would have gone along way towards a new boat.

I thought so too, but it normally gives you the option to make your picks right after completion of the previous.  It isnt giving me that option currently.

They are going to have to limit the angler selections since not everyone has qualified for the Cup...I'd give it a couple days then check back...
