Title: Just how tough is fluorocarbon?
Post by: fowlmouth on January 26, 2007, 12:15:29 AM
Caught this toothy bugger over Christmas vacation, 8lb Power Pro & 20lb Seagar leader. He put up a good fight for his size, but just couldn't chew it. Interesting experience after this pic when I tried to get the hook out without getting nipped.

I couldn't even use a Boga grip on it, had to grab it by the tail and it turned around and tried to bite me. I ended up grabbing the hook with a pair of needlenose pliers. We usually don't get many sharks and that was the first hammerhead.
