Title: Muskegon Lake
Post by: springlakebassman on August 05, 2007, 02:35:10 PM
Does anybody out there have any suggestions for Muskegon?  Not to put a tear in my beer but my season has gone south this year.  I am fishing a small club tourney tues. and the last night tourney I fished on Musk. I pulled in the big 0. Only managed two 8" while there were 8 limits and one other boat with fish.  I appreciate any suggestions.

If they do not put fishermans landing off limits that is a great place to get a limit other wise fish just outside of fishermans landing on the north side flat. I dont fish there much but it is a good place to catch some fish. Another place to try is the west shore strait across from fishermans landing, very nice weed breaks.

the black buoy producs well in the evening, just throw to the wind and bring it back on the break.  Watch out for toothy critters on the drop though, they got two of my 3/8 tungstens >:( >:(

There's some wood and old submerged pilings on the flat where the River branches into the lake.   I've had some really good spinnerbait and crankbait fishing up there.

I was there on Friday and it was tough.  The flow was low and the water near the mouth was really clear - it's usually got some color up on that flat.   Fishing all over the lake was tough after about 8:30AM.

With the rain we had last night and today, it might color the water there up a bit and get them up on the wood.
