Title: Saginaw Bay
Post by: SODY on May 14, 2008, 05:48:24 PM
It has been far to long since I lost the biggest smallmouth of my life,  watched a perfectly good skeeter nearly be destroyed and decided it was Ranger or Champion fro me!  ??? I know! I know! I love the other boats too, but these two float or come back after Saginaw is done with them. (I'm joking don't write me hate mail).  I was fishing with a well known angler who thought the smallie would have made 7lbs. Anyway lets get it started. I'm looking forward to a trip to the bay these next two weekends. Whats happening?? Are the charity Islands looking good!

Fill me in Oby wan bassnobi's.

I'm looking to take my boat out on the bay for the first time either Sat. or Sunday. I tink I want to launch out of Quanicasse. Any suggestions? Is anyone going to be in the area? The Top Bass goes out of Lindy's next weekend and I'd like to join in the fun. ;D

Don't worry, thel'll be up this weekend.  Saturday they were just pulling up and making beds.  I'll be out all weekend.  Looks like a west or north west wind all weekend, friday would be the day if you could.  Durand, Quanicassee would waste a lot of gas in the boat.  Trailer up m-25 to bayshore marina just north of bayport.  That puts you in wildfowl bay in case it gets rough and your only 2 miles to north island which holds quality fish this time of year.  It's also about 12 miles to charity.  I'll be the guy in the white TR-185 going 2 mph in 4 footers!

Hey guys,
Not sure if the wind will let me out saturday, sunday looks like a maybe.  The winds look bad for Saturday and not much better for sunday.  Be prepared for some rough water.  Check this link, very accurate hourly wind forecast.  Check it right before you leave for the best forecast.

Thanks for the post and the link, if you see the green and black champion say hello, I'm shooting for Sunday if the weather holds.

Just got back from saginaw.  A lot of empty beds in the morning, probobly because of the cold nights.  Not a lot of fish up yet, but they are up.  Wind really picked up around noon and kept me away from my better areas.  This weekend does not look good, I'm trying for sunday as well but who knows.  Next weekend's weather looks great.

Never got back out this weekend, just too rough.  Got a lot of work done around the cottage.  Anyone make it out, how was it?

If anyone did make it out, they probably didn't make it back. It looked nasty out there
