hate them dog fish.
there is about a 10 pounder laying on the ice in front of my house. someone must have speared it or caught it on a tip up. the crows and gulls have been having a feast. man them things are ugly.

But isn't New Yorks limit 10"? ;D
omg and I thought we had it bad here.
12" for a keeper here. Not all of the state has this ridiculous season, it varies by county which makes it even more confusing. My county has no catch and release season but 15 minutes away is Lake Placid that is open all year. Too bad there's no bass in there or none that I could find on my only trip there last year. Ice fishing regs are crazy too. You can use 5 tipups on most inland lakes, none on some, and many lakes allow no ice fishing while you can have up to 15 tipups on Champlain! I think you are allowed 5 or 10 hooks per line too, can you imagine trying to bait 150 hooks? ???

I knew I had seen this somewhere. These are the Black Bass rules for Lake Champlain in NY
http://www.dec.ny.gov/regs/4026.html Table C
Black Bass Second Saturday in June through November 30 minimum length 10" 5 fish limit
December 1 through the Friday proceeding the second Saturday in June Catch and release only; artificial lures only
Hey... I might be going to NY in early spring to give a talk about the economics of bass fishing. Maybe I can stir some things up!?!
