Hello Anglers -- ice conditions starting to deteriorate with current warming trend, ice reached a thickness this year from 8 to 14 inches (at 10-11 mile) within 1/2 mile from shore. A lot of open water South of GP Yacht Club (So of 8 mile) all the way down to the head of the river..
Perch here has been slow -- many small fish, 4 -5 inchers, early morning has proved best. Some Blue ice (thin stuff) forming.
Water level down at seawalls 18- 24", a little more than last year at this time.
Wind has been generally out of the North and West- Water is clear (under the ice).
CG very active with their (very loud) Air Boat out of 10 mile, we had only one search and rescue at this end of lake this year (no one lost).
Mature Bald Eagle reported at E. Ford Estate.

It HAS to be spring. My road is a muddy mess. That water looks good to me. Great report. Thanks
I feel like that woman from the old Mervin's commercial for the after Thanksgiving sale.
Looking in through the window, with my hands pressed against the glass....
"open, open, open....."
THANKS for the update from the Mile Roads mjm6! Always enjoy and appreciate them.
Great report mjm6...how's it looking now?
It's been too cloudy for recent satellite
Here is one from 3/11 - Erie is breaking up and St. Clair is showing it breaking apart.

From yesterday -- an update. Mile Roads are all iced in, with black ice out about 3/4 mile. East wind pushing up slush about 1 mile out. Most early bird migrations taking place now. Report form T.Wise that Harsens Is. canals are ice free - but no perch found. West end of Erie mostly open and one friend has already been out for Walleye. Im in Gnd Rapids this wkend.
