I went out on St. Clair on Sunday and saw all the muddy water and headed south to 9 Mile. That is where I found clearer water. Rest of the Mile Rds. were mud. Hung there and caught some fish.
The next day the whole thing was mud from Metro to 9 Mile and south from there. It was the muddiest I have ever seen the Mile Rds. in years. Worse than the day before. Way worse.
So has anyone been out there since Monday, May 14, 2010?? What are the conditions like out there? Has the water cleared up?? Thanks for any update anyone can contribute.

Talk with a guy and he was up there yesterday and said they were still muddy. I looked at the satellite and it looks like they're clearing up and could be good to go by Saturday/sunday.
Its gonna be on like Donkey Kong!
Planning on going Sunday.

We are headed down on sunday as well. Have water temps started to come back up yet? Do you think the mile rds will be cleared up by this weekend? Thanks for the info guys and will post results from trip.

I was out there yesterday (Thursday) and did pretty well. (about dang time) The water still had very low visibility, but is starting to become more green than brown. I caught plenty of fish along the Mile Roads even with less than 2ft visibility. Things were worse though up by Memorial Park and we didn't catch anything there.
Most of the bass we caught were from 7.5 to 8 FOW contrary to Saturday where it seemed like the good bags came from much shallower water. I fished shallow for hours with lipless cranks and tubes and never got a bite till we hit about 7.5 FOW. Once we hit about 9 FOW, the bite seemed to quit. Staying around the rocks also seemed to be pretty much the deal. Maybe that means all these confused Smallies are ready to get back into the swing of things and start making babies again. I sure we could see the beds though...ugh. This dirty water is just crazy. I'll be out with our club in the morning (Sat). We'll see how it goes. Hopefully it will be "Donkey Kong"... Wags, will you be out in the am... and can I follow you? LOL
Thanks for the update Rev. With my son so heavily involved with travel soccer, I only get out once a week lately and sometimes twice if I am lucky. This weekend it's Sunday. So I really want every trip to be worth the trip. I am on vacation from work during Memorial week, so I hope to get out on LSC 4 or 5 times.

Cool. Call me during that week and let me know when you'll be out there. I'd love to hook up and compare notes.
I have to meet a pool contractor 9am Sat. morning and do a layout on an in-ground pool for my celebrity client. ;D But I will be getting out shortly after that.
was out there yesterday also. agree w/the 2ft visibility. caught alot of "average smallies". got on a good drift for a couple of hours in 8 fow and got into them pretty good. my friend i was w/caught a couple of good ones that might have gone 5 & 6lbs respectively, but we had no scales to be sure. but we had a great day out there.
I can't go this weekend but taking a friend out Thursday, to try out his new 21ft tracker. Hope water clears up. Although I will not be at work, so it is what it is! My sons are also in to sports so I will be daddy taxi this weekend also!
took out an old classmate of mine, launched from the dnr ramp by Becon Marine, 2-4 ftr's and water the color of triple cream coffee greeted us ( first time for him, o'boy ). headed toward the mile roads in hopes of clearer water, not, ugliest I've ever seen. headed up into the canals for some largemouth and only one was clear enough to fish, giving us some decent black bass and one beeg crappie. Wind was dying down as waves were settling some so we tried one more time for smallies over by the mansion. Actually find a slightly cleaner streak of water which produced one 15" bass ( shades of the DK open ) and a 35" muskie. As usually the case, got it figured out, the water was settling nicely and we had to get off. Weather forecast for this week they should be coming in like gang busters by Wednesday !
