Well I been looking forward to going up north all year in October and wouldn't you know it I finally get a new job and have to start out working the weekend shift. That's great but I still would like to make it up there before the year is over the problem is the buddies I usually go with can only go during weekends. So if any boaters are interested and want to go to Burt & Mullet or Leelanau October 12th-15th or 19th-22nd hit me up and we can split expenses and catch a load of big ol footballs!
better get that schedule fixed before next march ;)
Might be good by then, im thinking guntersville this year??
wha? bah?
no newton???? get tired of catching all the 5lbers there?
NEWTON!!!!!!!!!!!
Ya Newton good
Aren't both Newton and Guntersville both south?
newton is only a 6hr drive
I'm going to Guntersville. After Marshaling for four days down there in May, I'm anxious to get back. I've got a lot of good spots now.
I'm going to be going down in April to Marshal the Pickwick tournament and then going back down in June to improve my tan and Marshal the Wheeler event.
Should get a couple whacks at Guntersville, and at least one trip on Wilson, Wheeler, and a day or two on Pickwick.
Of all the places I've been in the south, including Florida's Harris Chain, Toho, and Table Rock I'd go back to Guntersville every chance I get. You owe yourself a trip, and when you go, spend at least a couple of nights during the week at the motel at the state park.
Last year in May you could get a room for about $80 a night which included two meals in their restaurant, which has some excellent fare.
The state parks in Alabama all seem to have really nice hotels in them. No simple little cabins like you sometimes see in our state parks. The hotel in Guntersville State Park is really nice. Great vistas and as I said the restaurant is very nice and very good.
I've never been to Newton, but you're darn tootin I love fig newtons!
For you young guys, that use to be part of the jingle they sang during the commercials on Satudays during Sky King.
FIG NEWTONS!!!!!!!!
