Check out this post (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/forum/index.php?topic=9965.0) if you haven't seen it yet for another great reason you don't want to miss the spring members tournament on May 14, 2011 at Lake St. Clair. We are renaming the events from now on to the MadWags Memorial Members Tournaments in honor of the sad passing of Dave MadWags Wagensomer.
We will have other prizes and a cookout after the paper weigh in. Hope to see you there because it is exactly what MadWags would have wanted from all of us.
That's an awesome gift for someone to win! Would be nice to have that in the arsenal, though I'm not sure I could actually use it! See you there!
BrianB will let me know what model it is when it gets here. Wish I could win it! I tried them out before... super light rods like holding a feather.
i got my fingers and toes crossed, yea it's hard to type this way but well worth it ;D
Really nice gesture by Grandt Rods to donate a rod towards the tournament and thanks for making it a random draw so everyone has a chance to win.
Thanks Grandt Rods!
What a fantastic prize! Someone is going to a very lucky person getting to own one of those rods. They are sweet looking.
Anyone know where to find the weights (ounces) of the rods in the Stealth series? And what is action on the 7' and 7'6" medium heavy casting rods?
Random Draw ???? Sweet, now I even have a chance of winning. lol

I don't think they're on the new website if I remember right. I can ask BrianB if they have weights on them somewhere. They are extremely light. Wish I had one too.

ppppplease be this one
Just a thought dan - maybe a raffle or silent auction for the rod would be a better idea - the money of course would go to wag's memorial fund.
What I planned on doing was just having a separate collection box for people who wish to donate to help the family who weren't able to send anything to the fund already, want to give more or just want to help in a convenient manner.
My first thought in both cases was to attract a good turnout to the event since it is the first MadWags memorial, and give everyone who shows and equal chance at winning a memorial prize, and to make it voluntary for people to donate towards the family fund with no strings attached. My mind can be changed.
I guess I trust in the good will and helpfulness of everyone, and feel uncomfortable tying the special rod donation to some type of required donation. As recent as a few days ago, someone new from another website contacted to tell me how nice all of the comments and memories everyone shared were to read.
Dan, I couldnt agree more. I'm thinking there are going to be a few young people there, not just Veronica this year. Wouldnt it be a fantastic tribute to Wags if one of these kids won that rod and it eventually helped them sometime in the future? These kids arent going to have money to make a donation right now, but should still have a chance at winning the rod. I think Wags would agree. I will be adding some to the box.
