Bass Fishing Reports Michigan / Lake Leelanau Spring Smallmout...
Last post by Bigbass201 - February 21, 2025, 04:09:07 AM
It was last spring that I had my first experience on the north end of Lake Leelanau.  What a wonderful fishery it is.  The lake runs about 21 miles long.  This particular morning I had 4 hours to fish and lucked into the mother load of pre-spawn smallmouth moving up.

I just found out through a mention by someone else that I have a seminar on Friday, February 21 at 4 pm on Stage C. So if you stop by booth 5767 during that time I will be gone fishing sort of. :) If anyone wants to hang in the booth at that time, I would appreciate it. Not critical but Friday might be busy.

Lake Erie Islands Smallmouth Bass Fishing. Here's a little something to get you through the cabin fever.  Nice fall day of smallmouth fishing around the Lake Erie Islands.

cameraguy done went and reminded me to create a Bassmaster Fantasy Fishing group for the website. Just login at the Bassmaster Fantasy Fishing website (link above) and search for the GreatLakesBass.com group to shoot for lifelong bragging rights! At least here!

Right now, I'm sitting solidly in first place, which I expect to last only a few minutes after the first Bassmaster Elite Series event, where I will then fall into my usual last place spot! See you there, and good luck. (Though there's no luck in fishing.)

Bass Fishing Tips, Techniques & General Discussion / Re: Prop repair
Last post by djkimmel - February 07, 2025, 03:26:26 PM
That's a great question. There used to be a shop in south central Michigan people sent props to. I believe I sent a prop there once and it came back real nice. Brinkmans Propeller Service in Grass Lake. Unfortunately, the number I have for them has been disconnected. It was a long time ago. I wonder if they went out of business?

I don't find a believable website though many business listings still exist for them? The website listed on their profiles is supposedly the email address for a pharmaceutical company in Europe? So I'm thinking out of business and something shady going on with their business listings?

I hope you can find someone.

Bass Fishing Tips, Techniques & General Discussion / Prop repair
Last post by Chewy - January 25, 2025, 09:02:42 PM
Does anyone have a shop in the West Michigan area that they bring their prop to for repairs?  I have a 4-blade stainless Mercury Trophy Plus that is starting to show its age.  Just a few dings here and there but nothing major.  Just needs the blade edges to be cleaned up and to make sure its balanced.  Any help is much appreciated.

I could use a helper for ~30 minutes after the show ends Sunday for tearing down, and packing the booth and materials into my car. That would be awesome if you can help!?! All volunteers will be added for a year to the special GLBass Friends group if not already in there. And you will have my eternal thanks and appreciation!

BOOTH VOLUNTEERS SUMMARY
You will get more details in the private volunteers area of the forum. You will be able to see it once I add you to the temporary show group. I will state a few things now. I need people who can talk to others in an outgoing, friendly fashion about joining the websites - mostly GreatLakesBass.com and GreatLakesIceFishing.com, handing out stuff and just answering general questions about fishing. NO ALCOHOL in the booth. No sales or giveaways of items not pre-approved by me before the show.

This is only a 10x10 booth so there's not a lot of room for extra friends and family to come and hang out in the booth. Please NO extra people behind the table or blocking the table front who are not on the volunteer list. The schedule can be adjusted some to accommodate people willing to help who can't fit one of the existing time slots. THANK YOU!!!!
