Finally got back out on the water today after being pretty much forced to stay on land by work and a busted rib.  Got the day off and the ribs are starting to feel better so off we went.

Hit a small local lake (can't mention the name... it's a pretty small lake...sorry) with Luke this morning and we got some decent fish despite the cold, rainy, and windy weather.  T-rigged craws were the ticket for most of our fish.  We managed 6 fish over 4 pounds and a lot of others in the 2-3 pound class.  Even managed a bonus 20" walleye!  Luke has the pictures on his camera so we'll have to see if he puts them on Facebook or something.

It was also the first trip to the water with the new Minn Kota Fortrex on the bow.  All I can say is sweet!  If you are running a 12 volt motor do what you have to do to get into a 24 volt system (or 36 if that's in your budget)!!  Even though I went from a 12 volt 55 lb motor to a 24 volt 80 lb motor, after 8 hours my one year old batteries were still pushing us upwind against what was at least a 12-15 mph sustained wind with 20-25 mph gusts.  Last year not only would be have been stalled in those winds but the batteries would have been pretty much dead when we got back to the trailer.
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

"So we'll have to see" come on Mikey you know better than that!

The walleye you caught even managed to get it's own album - "Bonus Fish & Chips"

Avah likes the camera and the fishy Uncle Mikey caught..............

But Haylee dislikes the camera or was just frightened by Mikes goatee...............When that thing goes all gray you'll be scaring kids everywhere!
