I've heard about that place!  I'm staying there too.  We'll have to do a cook out on Friday night.

Well, I thought I wasn't going to make it, but the wife happened to notice two things.

1. There are Bed and Breakfasts in Whitehall
2. It's within 4 days of our wedding Anniversary

This could be a very expensive tournament

Put me down as a non-boater but will go boater if needed.  Looking forward to seeing who comes in the 20+ lb. bag.

Let's hope someone on these boards can help make this one a happy ending........

I took a new job yesterday that requires a 2 full weeks of training at the corporate office in Akron, OH from Sept. 7th - Sept. 17th.  Not only will I be unable to attend the 2nd 2010 DK Open on the 11th I will also miss the ROI Camp & Cruise Classic on Hamlin the 12th - not cool at all but I guess I need to fund my obsession with whacking bass somehow.....

There could be a silver-lining to the story - Akron is only an hour from Vermillion, 90 minutes to Port Clinton, and 2 hours from Toledo so if there is anyone out there who fishes or knows someone who fishes Erie from Toledo-Vermillion please contact me.  I could go out smallie jacking on the 11th or 12th - help me realize my boyhood, adulthood, and fishhood dreams by taking me fishing on Erie either the 11th or the 12th.  It's like the Make-a-Wish Foundation for bass-addicts!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man... I need to share the Outside Hub Quote of the Day for today:

Well, we booked a room today. I got off cheaper than I thought. I'm looking forward to fishing White as I've never been there before. We are planning on being there early on Friday so at least I'll get a few hours in before the tourny. It should be fun!

What's with the news these days on the TV and the radio. Can't find the truth amongst the lies. Some talking head that claims to live their life in a better way, says I have to compromise. But now there's something on the rise. Truth has opened up my eyes. There's no running from your dirty lies. You can't avoid the truth. I'll no longer close my eyes.

I was on White this morning with my dad.  What a weedy mess.  It's worse than I remember it at this time last year.  For us, the fishing was slow.  We didn't see anyone else doing much either.  There were probably 6 or 7 other bass boats out.  Got very windy very fast.  When the wind changed direction, and came right from the west, had to have been close to 20 mph.  Most of our bites were on spinnerbaits at the weed edges, running them just under the surface.  We did get a couple on tubes, but only a couple.  Can't wait to see everyone there.

Firefighter Jeff

Tough luck Mike.  I'm sure with all the warm temps this year the weeds have exploded.  There's a webcam of the backwater area just up river from the launch and it looks thick !!

You cant count on anything Mike says anyway. He makes most of this stuff up. LOL Seems like I remember him telling me once that he knew how to catch fish on Muskegon too. LOL  All in good humor Mike

Mike S.

Ouch!  Tough crowd.  Dan, I'm sorry.  Everybody needs to be VERY excited for White.  The weeds will go down, and there will be 7 pounders galore on the 11th.  As for mikesmiph.....I hope you can swim!  You wanted to go fishing on the 10th, right?  Just kidding, you won't have to swim.
