Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I figured it out. But you were going by the old test season that was discontinued when we moved to a statewide catch and release bass season several years ago. The correct opening day for catch and release smallmouth or largemouth bass in the Great Lakes and Lower Peninsula is the last Saturday in April every year.
