10-10 Bass Busters

So over the past week I've had a great experience and a terrible experience with fishing products.  Lets start with the good!!  I have been a huge fan with Pflueger reels for a long time and after what they did for me this week I can't say enough good things about them.  I had purchased a used patriarch baitcaster over the winter.  I was using it last weekend at a tourney and noticed the handle was moving backwards and making a clicking sound.  I printed off their repair form and mailed it out on Tuesday with an arrival date of Thursday.  I didn't have a receipt and wasn't trying to make a warranty claim since it only had a 1 year warranty.  I expected to receive a call within a couple of week telling me what was wrong and how much I need to send them.  Well Saturday morning FedEx shows up at the house with a box from them.  Inside is a brand new reel and my spool from my old reel with my floro still on it!!!  No charge on the invoice!! Amazing!!  Keep up the good work Pflueger!!

Now for the bad.  I decided to try Trokar hooks this year.  I picked up a pack of 4/0 ewg and #2 drop shot.  Well at the same tourney I lost a nice fish on a beaver (spit the hook)  Just prior to this I had changed hooks because I noticed the one I was using the tip had rolled.  I had made about a dozen or so cast and never hooked up on anything prior to that fish hitting.  When I brought my line in I was adjusting my beaver and noticed that hooks point also had rolled.  I changed back over to my Gamakatsu hooks.  The other day I was doing some pre fishing using the drop shot hooks( thought I'd try them) I lost 2 fish on 2 different hooks both had the tips rolled over!!! >:(  I was done!! The remaining hooks are in the trash!!  Not sure if anyone else has had this experience, but I know I will never buy them again!!  Thought I'd share..tight lines and great fishing!! ;D

I've used the #1 and 1/0 Trokar dropshot hooks, and, from my experience, they are good for a few fish before they get dull and/or roll over.  Straight from the package, they are great, but, after a few fish, not so much.  I've gone back to using my Gammies.

i wouldn't use eagle claw hooks for anything, let alone pay 2$ a piece for them......  give me the tried and true gammie ewgs

Cheetam talking drop shot.  maybe that end of the world is near guy was right.

I have one tied on my flipping stick.  maybe I better check it.

I like my Owner hooks.

I've been using Gammagatsu OWG hooks with my stick worms for years.  They stay sharp for a long time.

A couple of years ago I switched to an Owner mosquito hook for drop shotting.  They also are a pretty darn good hook.

I just can't bring myself to quit using hooks that work so well, and switch to an overpriced (IMO) hook.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

With all the bad stuff I have heard about trokar hooks, I think I will stick to Gamakatsu.  They have always been reliable.  My second choice will always be Eagle Claw.  I have always had good luck with them too.
