Last weekend, rumor has it that Steve Clapper won the three-day Windsor Canadian Open. I haven't gone to check the details nor have I talked to Steve yet, but I believe it was mid-50 pounds to win. Another member, Dave Reault took a respectable 10th place after winning the event the past two seasons.

Congrats to Steve Clapper and anyone else I know who finished well. This is a major international event with some very good anglers participating from 3 or 4 countries usually.

Yesterday, Ben Felton won the St. Clair Bass Anglers United? tournament fishing alone with 5 bass that weighed 18.99 pounds including big bass of just over 5 pounds. I believe Steve Clapper and Joe Balog took 2nd, but I only have the excited details from Ben so far. Way to go Ben!!! Check out more on Ben at http://www.benfishin.com/.

Also on Saturday, Wayne Carpenter took 2nd place in the east Fishers of Men event on Lake
Erie with 17-something - he told me tonight and I think it was about 17 1/2, but I forget (Wayne will set me straight). The Canadian Mist twin tail grub was the hot lure for Wayne and his partner, Scott Hayes, Saturday. Those Erie bass see a lot of tubes, so sometimes something different turns the trick. Congrats Wayne! Pretty good for a guy who spends most of his time farther north on St. Clair.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
