Breaking News!!

Received a call earlier from TBF of MI members Jon Jezierski and Joshua Kolodzaike. The fished the Ohio Bass Federation-hosted BassFan Weekend Warrior Championship qualifier today on Alum Creek Reservior for the two TBF Northern Division spots and both qualified.

Jon finished 1st for the 2006 boaters with 5 smallies weighing over 7 pounds, while Joshua finished 1st for 2006 nonboaters with 5 largemouths weighing over 8 pounds! This with no practice because the lake had to be changed yesterday after the original lake was closed by the Army Corps of Engineers due to flooding.

This is great news for them as they will go on now to the 2006 BassFan Weekend Warrior Championship in September.

Unfortunately, Eric Smith and Jack Cahn appear to have been unsuccessful in their bid for the two 2007 BassFan WWC spots.

Further details on this in a few days. Congratulations Jon and Joshua!

Congrats to Jon and Joshua for winning both sides of 2006 wwc - they were the only ones to figure em out!

The boater I drew from WI actually won the 2006 side with 3 fish for a whopping 4.45 lbs.  The fishing there is tough, and the fish are small.  I caught a few small ones, and one keeper 1,45 lbs - that put me in third out of five.  The 2007 non-boater was from OH with 4.73 lbs - not sure  how many fish, but I think that was 4 or possibly a limit.

The Original site was on Lake Delaware.  After getting up at 2:00 am to meet ERis Smith at the ramp at 6:00, we spent most of the day oput there checking it out.  The weather was nothing short of blazing hot.  I guess there has been tons of rain noth of Delaware, and the lake is a flood control reservoir.  The water was like creamed coffee in most places, and up over 7 feet from a few days earlier.  The dock at the boatlaunch was completely submerged ,as we launched from the parking lot.  We went looking all day for cleaner water, and found little. What we did find, we caught a few dinks, and Eric found 1 keeper.  We decided to hit the marina around 2:00 for something cold to drink and some air conditioning.  While there, we talked to a few folks pulling out their bass boat, and they informed us the Corp of engineers is closing the lake due to safety concerns. Oh well, a day of practice of no use for tomorrows tourney.

The Ohio angler Paul did us a huge favor of meeting us at the ramp we put in at, and waited till we loaded and led us over to Alum Creek so we could check out the lake for the morning.  After we launched, we ran down to the dam and started looking to work our way  back to the ramp before our meeting that night . Withing 30 minutes, the sky turned black with thunder and lightning - ran back to the ramp and pulled out.  so much for practice.

Great group of guys - wold do it again anytime.

Interesting coincidence. I've been trying to get some details the past couple of days from BassFan or TBF for you guys.

Josh - I'm assuming you'll let Jon Jezierski know for now, but I'll probably call him this weekend if I get a direct response from TBF on any more details. If I do get anything of interest, I'll pass it on.
