Hey guys,

Can I get a Wapole License online anywhere?
Or can I have it mailed to me?

If not what is the best way to get one?
Live in northeast ohio.

Thanks

No online. You might be able to get a Walpole fishing license mailed if you have enough time. There are two places on Jefferson Ave that buy licenses once a week. You call early in the week and they buy them on Thursday usually so you can pick up on Friday. I have been able to get them mail a license to me in the past if I had extra time. It cost more but it is convenient.

Try Nautical Mile BP at 586-498-7650 (usually a little cheaper and friendly) and if they aren't able to do it, try Lakeside at 586-777-7003.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Also.....you cannot get a Walpole license without getting an Ontario license. So plan on getting both. Lakeside does have a website. www.lakesidefishingshop.com I think you can buy them online from their website. The Walpole license is available right there in the store. The Ontario license is the one they buy once a week when they go over there to buy them. The Ontario license is also available online but I don't have the address handy right now for the Ontario MNR or I would put up a link. Maybe one of the other forum members could if they have it handy.

So there are ways to get the licenses. I hope this information is helpful to the other tourists that are coming to fish here. I like tourists. Tourists mean $$$.

We recently had a long discussion about online Ontario licenses. I think it is one of the 'redneck' threads nearby ;D

Links are in that thread. They do sometimes have the Walpole licenses in stock though they sometimes ran out later in the year depending upon volume. It would be wise to check ahead anyway.

Technically, all Walpole territory is also in Ontario. I have always bought both when I intended to fish that part of the lake. I imagine you could get stopped and checked by Ontario authorities while fishing in Walpole territory? Probably more likely if you are in the main river channels or out in the lake edge parts. I've never actually seen MNR or similar Ontario authorities up in the Walpole channels.

I rarely see MNR anywhere. The few times have been up the main St. Clair River channel around Fawn Island and down on the South Shore of the lake. I think I have seen them running around near the shipping channel in the lake a time or two.
