Too bad it's all lake effect

The snow we're getting on the west side is just lake effect, so it's doing nothing to help the water level in Lake Michigan.  It might help a few local lakes a little but in the long run it's useless and only causes sore backs from shoveling and calls to insurance agents for slide offs and fender benders (and there seems to be a lot of those around here this morning).
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

It would be nice to get a couple big snow storms before winter ends. At least this year we have most lakes with some decent ice on them

We haven't had much here on the east side all winter.  Maybe we have some now with the recent dip in temps.. But for the most part, we're losing water over here too.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

I honestly don't know what the city of Muskegon is going to be able to do about their launches this spring/summer.

Cottage Grove launch is almost unusable at this point. It will take a 50 yard channel dredged to the deeper water at this point.

Grand Trunk is nip and tuck trying to stay out of the muck.

Hartshorn is risky in spots if you back off the ledge.

I haven't been up to Snug but I would imagine the DNR will have it's hands full with it also.

The Montague launch on White is a very shallow canal getting to the river channel also.

This drought is getting darned scary.

We definitely need some more system snow/rain before the season starts! Our inland lakes will gain some water from the recent storms because 12+ inches has fallen across West Michigan. We really, really need a big hurricane to push through South Texas to fill up Choke Canyon, Falcon, and Lake Corpus Christi and spin north to give us a few days of hard rain!
