What does it take to win?
Winning involves more than a secret spot or a magic lure

?The difference between good and great is very small, but it is made up of many things.?

Readers of this column know I don?t quote people very often. Telling you what Larry Nixon thinks or what Jim Moynagh says flies in the face of one of my most important performance-psychology principles: Learn to think for yourself.  continue...

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

That is a great article Dan. I read it a few weeks ago and it struck a chord. I find myself questioning the way I fish certain lures or rigs ALOT. Even when they are catching fish I get this self concious thing going in my head that I am fishing like an idiot. In the club tourneys I used to fish my Stepfather was my partner. Hes an old school guy who thinks he literally knows everything. Alot of times I would find myself changing tactics at both of our expense because of the way he was doing it. I think it is so important to do things your own way. If everyone fished the same way there would be no room for innovative techniques and all the magazines would run out of stuff to write. You have to try stuff and "think outside the box" even if someone looks at you like you lost your mind.

Speaking of which. I dont remember where, but I read an article called fishing like an idiot and it was great also. Guy won a TX fishing a worm some crazy way and everyone thought he was a fool. Fact of the matter was, he won the thing and looked like an idiot all the way to the bank.
