What happened to it?  Most stores just have old stock and it's not in the new catalogs.

Not sure. I haven't seen anything, but it isn't on their web site. If I find out, I'll pass it along. I'm still using it.

Got the word from Shakespeare today that they still make Shakespeare Supreme line. Didn't say why it isn't on their web site right now?

I did some more digging because I've been using Shakespeare Supreme for a couple seasons and I really like it for general applications like spinnerbaits, crankbaits, topwater, some finesse lures if I'm not using a fluorcarbon for some reason. I do not know why it isn?t on the web site right now, but they are still making it at this time. I hope they keep making it ? I have confidence in Shakespeare Supreme.

It is a soft line - low memory compared to many monofilaments. I?ve been pretty happy with it, and the number one thing I like about it, is it compares to the other mono lines very well, but costs less. The Shakespeare companies runs a lean operation, not as much advertising. That explains why the Pflueger President spinning reels are every bit as good ? I LOVE them! ? as the $100 to $120 reels, but only cost about $60. If you haven?t tried one, pick it up in the store and test-drive it.

I found the same thing about the Supreme line ? very good quality for a lot less money. I think what Shakespeare is up against is that when people see the name, they think Outcast and other low end lines with Shakespeare?s name on them. They don?t realize this is the premium line. Because Shakespeare doesn?t advertise as much, the word just hasn?t gotten out.

I like to save money and help all my friends do so also, so I need to get the word out more ? very good line for a great price.

Some info about Shakespeare mono:
-Made in America by Shakespeare;
-Shakespeare is the number one monofilament line maker in the US;
-Shakespeare makes a lot of the line people buy from other outlets under other brands, like Wal-Mart, Bass Pro and Cabela?s to name a few.

Give it a try this year ? it won?t cost much to try one spool.

I have not tried Ugly Braid yet ? that?s new. I?ll give it a drive later this year. I have been using the Cajun Red for a couple years and I also like that line ? easy to see, better sensitivity for mono (it?s slightly stiffer) and seems really tough like an XT, but not as thick. I have not had any contractual relationship with Shakespeare (All Star, Pflueger, Cajun Line) since June of 05, but I like the products so I have continued using and talking about them.

Wal-mart and Gander Mountain flint (always had the best selection) have their shakespeare supreme off the racks and in clearance bins.  If anyone knows someone in the detroit flint area that will carry it let me know.  I hate to buy line online, I always get old bad line.  It's funny, of the two brands of mono I use (supreme, bps signature) both according to the last post are made by the same company.
Thanks, Matt

I don't know what they plan on doing since they don't give out a ton of free info, but they say they are still making it. If they could figure out a way to get people to try it...

Bass Pro still had a ton of it on their wall last time I was in. I saw it still on the wall in Gander Mountain - Novi too a few weeks ago.

I did not know until recently how much line Shakespeare is putting out. I guess I thought Berkley was doing a lot of this other line. Turns out Shakespeare is doing the most. Go figure.
