My wife's family has a beach cottage on the east side near Port Sanilac/Forester.  We visit a time or two a year from Indiana and I always sit on the porch, watching the lake and wonder, is there any small mouths around that part of the lake?  See plenty of perch, walleye, trout and salmon fisherman, never seen a bass rig or heard of anyone bass fishing.  I've often wondered if there is rock piles or weed beds that would hold them?  Is there just not enought structure to hold alot of bass?  Or plenty of bass, just no fisherman?

There are rumors. Someone just needs to go out there, catch them and post a fishing report.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

One of the guys I work with has a cottage just south of Grind Stone City.  He brings in photos of smallies that will make you drool.  They wade out in May or early June.  He tells me they taste great.  Some people.  Get out there and report back.

My wife's grandparents have a place near grindstone right by lighthouse county park. The smallie fishing can be great out there. On really clear and calm days you can see the schools from a good distance and throw any natural type worm near them and its game on!  Out in front of the lighthouse near the first dropoff by the big rocks can be good. Also eagle bay is a quality area

Nope,  no Smallies out in the rocks around Grind Stone City.  I check every spring and nothing yet.  I'll keep checKing in the spring.  If they turn up I'll let everyone know.  No need to waste the trip up there....
