Good to be back... better once I figure out why the new posts things are working completely right. Some aren't updating to new correctly and some aren't switching back to 'read.'

Hopefully figure that out sometime this weekend.

 yeah, welcome back. i haven't seen the site since last saturday (and by the way, i posted stuff that afternoon and the system blew those out) and now to take time to play catch up w/all the new stuff being posted.. but glad to see it back running again.

Yeah - there was some data loss and corruption - the whole server (or servers?) was eventually restored from probably the last good server backup, not my personal backup. Because of the timing and length of the downtime, I didn't have a good backup that could cleanly recover anything more than what the server backup could. Sorry - I had to delete a bunch of empty and partial threads too after the 'recovery.'

I still don't know what happened, but it had to be serious and sustained to last that long. I asked for an update, but never got it. I imagine they were hearing from a lot of unhappy people. I've been looking at things for the past 2 and a half days to see I can make it less likely to happen and easier to recover from. Working on it.
