yes, Tomahawk Creek Flooding, not a frog thing just a fishing trip. i've had it on my fishing bucket list for some time now. and 2014 sounds like the year to go.

we need to do an outing to Sanford lake.   Check out the Top Bass Championship results.  That is a fish alone series.     18 fish over 5 pounds and 3 over 6 for 2 days of fishing.

YpsiBass

I'll second this.  If we're not doing wixom next year on BBC, sanford seems like just the ticket.  I think someone on this board might even be on that lake a lot...

Wow! I didn't know Sanford was on that good!?!

I enjoy fishing Tomahawk Creek Flooding but it is hard to catch a bass over 2 1/2 pounds past the best of the spawn into early fall. Sometimes the numbers make up for it but I have never gone there and caught 50+ in a few hours fishing. If you like fishing wood, there's no shortage of that. There's a lot of wood I've never caught a bass off of too though.

Sanford is a killer lake for huge bass. It seems to be getting better and better over the past 3 years or so. There is some good top cover in the lake too but depends when and how much weed treatment they spray

hey guys.  didn't jump in this year cause when i saw the date for this, our club was set having a 2day tournie last weekend. which i had planned on fishing, but due to a unexpected medical issue from labor day weekend didn't fish at all.

but if i can put my 2cents in for next year, i thought last year ovid we mentioned having this back down this way to try & i see already going north again.  i like this event & usually allow/make a 1day travel event for me. by what i see,  3 of us locally here i know of in canton, livonia, ypsilanti & i'm betting u might get a couple more takers if we try this.  so i'm putting half moon chain or portage chain in the hat.

and sorry to hear on rain,  again.. >:(
if it feels good - SET THE HOOK!!

im gonna back out i think.  its hard to justify 7 hours driving to fish for 6

I would think Portage Chain near Pinckney could be a really good choice for a fall frog tournament. Many years ago, I used to go there just to frog fish all day.

Don't know how it is now, but I had to cover some water to get from one good frog area to another but it was usually fairly to very productive.

I'll second Portage Chain in Pinckney for next year.  Lots of frog water throughout most of the lakes in this chain.  The Huron River also has plentiful frog water on it.  If its helds anywhere in southeastern Michigan next year, count me in.

I really need to work on my frog skills. We had a pretty frustrating day on the kayaks a few weeks back, multiple blow ups and not a single fish landed. Depending where this event ends up I would like to fish it
