Big dreams

Anyone fish this place?  It is in Genesee County.

I used to when I was a youngster. I was just talking to someone last week about Holloway. He said the lake's bass have really come on lately with more smallmouth bass than ever! It was pretty muddy and tough when I was a youngster but I managed to catch a few nice largemouth bass sometimes. The occasional big pike. It had a reputation for putting a few big walleye too. Don't know if pike or walleye have increased with the bass.

Holloway Reservoir was the place that caused some tournament organizers to add the rules against towing a smaller boat along or partially sinking your bass bass boat so you could get into the secret little fishing hole. I haven't heard anything about the secret little fishing hole in maybe a couple decades. Not even sure if it still is a hotspot. Luckily, it sounds like the creek channel fishing makes it unnecessary to sink your boat or tow a little pocket raider rig.

A good friend of mine won the big open out there years ago fishing a channel bend loaded with smallmouth bass no one even knew were in there in those numbers at the time. Sounds like more anglers have figured them out and there are more to catch now.

Watch out prop and lower unit snatching wood. Used to be a lot of that scattered around the lake.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
