Ok last post for me I promise.....

QuotePlease correct me if I wrong but didn't "we (the state of Michigan)" pass a proposal in fall that allowed the DNR to keep their money for their needs?  I just Goggled up Proposal 1:

Proposal 06-1
A proposed constitutional amendment to require that money held in conservation and recreation funds can only be used for their intended purposes
Cy

This proposal was put forth because the MDNR had funds they had set aside that was taken from them by Granholm to fund other things... This was the purpose in creating proposal 06-1

The only problem with proposal 06-1 is that the MDNR can only use funds for their intended purposes... That means they can not have a general fund like they had in the past and use that fund for various different things. They are greatly limited in what they can do with any money now.

Ok I'm done .... thanks for your time guys .. I hope I did not offend anyone ... that was not my intent .... I have heard a ton of inside info on this problem, from various sources and wanted to share my findings.

Thanks

Anthony Adams - As your director I believe in promoting the enjoyment of fishing to all. I encourage good sportsmanship and preserving of natural resources. I strongly encourage all individuals regardless of age, race, or gender to be more involved in the world of fishing

I've been watching this post and debating on wether to reply. Well just my 2 cents. Every Governer since Romney has robbed the DNR funds. The reason being that most of their funding came from the general fund. Granhlom eliminated the general fund contribution, which in the states present condition seems the prudent thing to do. Now the DNR has to pay up with thier own fully funded budget. The increases although steep % wise, equal about a case of beer for the average dear hunter, a couple of lures per fisherman and misc. camo for everyone else. I'm personnaly going to buy my grandsons licenses even though they won't require them for years and years. Just my why of helping out.

This is going hot and heavy on LSC.net also.  I will repeat what I posted there..My daddy told me "if you want to stay friends with someone you don't discuss politics, religion or how hot their wife or daughter is".  So I am going to back off of posting on this topic.

Let's go fishing.
