Gander to offer Tracker 1/23/2007
The Gander Mountain Co. and Tracker Marine Group jointly announced that, beginning this spring, Gander Mountain stores will begin selling "popular Tracker Marine Group boat brands," including Tracker, Fisher, Sun Tracker, Nitro, ProCraft, Tahoe, Mako, and Kenner. Offerings will be tailored to locations.

Gander Mountain currently has 105 stores in 22 states, and a news release stated it would now be "the largest national network of outlets for Tracker Marine Group boats. That network will continue to expand with the planned opening of at least 12 new Gander Mountain stores in 2007."

Gander Mountain president and CEO Mark Baker said of the deal: "Bass Tracker and other top brands from Tracker Marine Group will put Gander Mountain in great position to take advantage of the large potential in the boat market. We've gained good experience in the boat business during the last couple of years. Now we're ready to make boats a big part of our business."

Tracker Marine Group VP of sales Dennis Revell said: "Gander Mountain has a great opportunity to grow their boat business by offering our best-selling brands in regional markets that their competitors have not entered. By covering those second- and third-tier markets so well, Gander Mountain has the ability to offer a lineup of boats that's right for every season of the year. We're looking forward to getting our boats in front of a lot of people who live in many new areas not previously served by Tracker dealers."

Yes Gander Mountain will be carrying Tracker boats.  All of the Michigan stores will be carrying jon boats but only Novi and Flint at this time will be selling the other lines i.e. Nitro, Tahoe, Suntracker.  If anyone has any other questions please feel free to ask and I will to the best of my ability answer.

I was in gander Mtn today and they had about 15 small tracker Jon boats -14ft.  They weren't outfitted with any motors or anything...

I am sitting here with Silverminnow, and that is correct if you were not in flint or novi you would not see motors.  As of right now only Novi has fiberglass boats.

Gander Mtn in Flint and in Utica are now selling Tracker Boats.

I recently accepted the position of Gander Mtn Powersports Manager at the Flint store.

The Novi store just received the first order of boats and Flints boats are on the way.

The Flint store will have the Z-9 (By mid April) if anyone is interested come in and take a look.

The boats sold out of these stores are going to be servied where?  Are trade ins allowed?  Did Gander hire experienced boat salesman?  My experience of chain stores handling boats is not good.  If thye want to sell jon and platic boats fine.  Most locations have no business even trying to service a boat customer.

The Boats sold will be serviced in Flint - I have a very good, experienced & certified Tech on board now and I'm looking to hire one more.

We recently hired Larry Gargas from Jans and Mike McCans (Hope I spelled it write) from Wilson Marine ..... Those two guys combined have over 30 years experience selling boats.

I have a 2008 model being built as we speak and I am told that it should be arriving in the next few weeks.

I've drove one already with the 250 Merc on it and it ran 79 MPH on the GPS!

Needless to say I was impressed.
