Fishing BFL as a co this weekend out of Elizabeth Park.   I've never fished Erie before.   Any real differences as a co on Erie versus St Clair?  Generally same techniques, baits, and colors apply or are there nuances to Erie to be aware of?

You will most likely be fishing deeper. If you are gonna fish a tube you better constantly check your line. No weeds to speak of either its all rock.

Tubes work very well on Erie but there is one major drawback-the freaking sheepshead love them more than the smallies do! I fished a TX on Erie this past Sunday and I swear I caught 100-125lbs. of these nasty critters.Due to the extremely high waves Sunday tubes were about the only bait I could get to stay down in 20' of water and the sheepies made me pay for it big time.I either throw drop shots or deep cranks nearly 90% of the time and I still catch a few sheeps but nothing like I do when using tubes-especially anything with any green in it.

If you end up on Erie throw the drop shot with the bait you used when we fished.  You may want some heaver weights  3/8 or 1/2 to get the bait down faster.

Good luck.
