Sportsman direct at the crocker launch sells them.  I'd call first to confirm stock though.

Spybaiting and Alabama/Umbrella rigs are fairly hot right now for some reason...  ::)

I've also been told that everyone has sold out of a certain crankbait in a matter of a couple days! I wonder if this comment had something to do with it? "Everything came on a Damiki DC300 crankbait in 'real shad' color." from Chad Pipkens talking about his win on Lake Erie during the most recent Bassmaster Northern Open?  :D

Talking to Chad about this he was pretty happy to hear this. It means he's doing a great job for his sponsors! Chad said he was amazed how he was able to catch every bass he weighed in on this one bait. That is pretty impressive!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Many of the anglers doing real well on St. Clair this summer have  been using the spybaiting presentation for their big smallies. I found that out recently directly from the anglers. I even got to look at their latest lure orders! I haven't tried it yet myself but if you have time to order or anyone happening to be near Morenci Michigan Mike's Rx Baits has an assortment of them available.

D&R Sports in Kalamazoo had 4 or 5 colors of spy baits when I was there a few weeks ago.

Big dreams

Ok, you got me.  Spybaits are minnow replicas with spinning blades on the front and or back?  Is this right?  I haven't heard of it yet.

You got it. Spybaiting or Spinbaiting was developed in Japan as a finesse technique. You basically use spinning gear, light line, and count the lure down to the desired depth and slowly reel. I have yet to try it but I'm looking forward to giving it a shot soon. Duo Realis is one of the manufacturers of the spinbait. I'm always reluctant to throw expensive baits in our waters because of Mr. Toothy, but I've donated my fair share of LuckyCraft jerkbaits to the pike gods so I suppose it's just the price of doing business.
