What boat ramp or ramps do bass tournaments generally use on Fremont Lake? Who administers the boat ramp - city, township, county, etc.? Thanks.

Why we're at it, what is the name of the ramp on Whitefish Lake near Pierson? I understand it is a township boat ramp, is that correct?

south west corner and is a dnr launch

Whitefish Lake or Fremont Lake? I don't show an MDNR ramp on either lake on the online boat ramp app.

The south ramp is best for tournaments on Fremont Lake. I'm not sure who runs it, but it shares property with a town hall, I believe. I have some friends at work who live in Fremont. I will ask them today and get back with you.

Okay. I had heard that the South ramp was the main one and that it is a township map. I heard the ramp on Big Whitefish Lake is also a township ramp.

We use both south and north depending on water conditions on fremont usually south. Township owns the south, not sure about the north.

The ramp on big whitefish is the one on the south end off Lake St. - its just a dirt lot with hole into it. It looks like a DNR owned site with some of the signage, but is not a maintained ramp (no actual ramp or dock). It may be owned by the township or lake assoc.

i've always heard that Whitefish is DNR owned access however the lake assoc has always tried to keep them from putting in a full ramp (for fear of it becoming overrun). While its not the best access site, i would be concerned with that as well. you can launch a full size rig there no problem, but i would hate to see the lake become jet-ski/ski-boat central as it is a good sized lake within 20 min of GR.

Fremont lake north ramp is city owned.  South ramp is township.

According to a couple of my customers, the Big Whitefish ramp is a DNR access site admistered by the Lake Association in cooperation with the township (which is why no one moved that big stump last year... no one wanted to do it and no one could make anyone do it).

I forgot all about this by the time I got to work the other day. My bad.
