BIGSHOW

I'm looking to try some different tubes. I like the coffee tubes in a dark green. Not sure exact color. What brand and color does everyone like. I'm wanting to try new things. Thx

BIGSHOW

I guess I should have mentioned. I don't use them much and would appreciate any ways to rig or any tips. I usually use a tube jighead but ive also texas rigged them. I'll be up on traverse bay this summer and thought it would help.

Check out xtreme bass tackle.  Capt. Wayne Carpenter does a great job with colors and quality.
In addition to the methods mentioned wayne talks about using a 3 way rig when in current.  Also when using shad type colors a darter head can trigger reaction bites.   Tubes can also be fished weightless with a EWG hook like a frog over vegetation.  For that matter a plain ole round jig head can work too.  Tubes can also be used as drop shot baits.  xtreme has both 2" and 4" tubes that work well for dropshotting.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

Wayne from Xterme baits  makes a nice tube. ISG makes a great series  of  tube call  the terminater greatlakes series.  They have a green tube that works well in St Clair  and Erie. Rig it Carolina or with a tube jig. Use a leader and swivels. Brown  colors worked best last  year, on a  drop  shot up in the bays. If  you  hit it at the right time. It doesn't  matter on the exact  color ,just get close .

Crankinsmallies

Go to Cruncher Baits or MIzmo, they will have every color you can imagine.  I like to stick with Green pumpkins and watermelon varieties.

Can't go wrong with Xtreme Bass tackle or Snack Daddy Lures.  Both are some of the best tubes you can throw.  The Snack Daddy Elite tubes are  hard to beat.

You know BIGSHOW.................like anything there are literally thousands of different tubes out there in brands, colors, sizes, etc.  So lets just cut to the chase and I'll tell you what works..........for me.  Everyone of course has their faves.  On LSC I like Extreme Bass Tackles St. Clair Craw, Formula G3, Canadian Mist, and Triple Threat all in the 4 inch size.  I would have the Mayfly color in the boat just for the hatch when it happens...........all 4 or 5 of them.  I also like ISG Goby and St. Clair Dream.  I also like the coffee tubes in the Gobylicious color.  On Erie I like from Extreme, his Erie Goby, Canadian Mist, Triple Threat, St. Clair Goby and/or Muskegon Goby.  From ISG, Clappers Magic, Purple Goby.  In the coffee tube I like Gobylicious.  I use Bite Me tube jigs with rattles because I think the rattles help them find it better.  Smallies are a curious bunch.  Sizes range from an eighth ounce to half ounce.  Seldom do I not use rattles.  I also Carolina Rig them as well as drop shot.  Not so much drop shot but every once in a while I'll do it.

Remember to expand from there.  Those in my opinion work the best...........for me.  Everyone has their faves as I said.  Good luck and let us know how you do when you get out there.  I guess you can get some of the Extreme Baits downriver now somewhere.  Maybe the Trenton Lighthouse or what used to be the Trenton Lighthouse...........I don't really know.  Or go to www.xtremebasstackle.com  The best way for you to get there aside from my provided link is from this websites online shopping link at the top of the web page.  That's usually how I get there.

Thanks for all the tips. As far as I know the Trenton lighthouse is still there. Not sure if the name has changed. I never see anyone there though when I stop by. I wonder how they stay in business. The one by the bridge gets a little busier.  I'll  check extreme out online. Thx again..

Got Fish??

The Lighthouse  bait shop has been closed  since last summer . It was  bought by new management , and  will  reopened this summer. The bait shop by the free bridge also has  a new owner. I was told  a fish cleaning  station  will be built  behind  the store this summer.
