Just got off the phone with Randy.  We are a go again this year.

Wednesday nights 6:00-9:30
I believe we will start the first Wednesday after Memorial Day... May 28th.
Still $20 per boat.  One or two person teams.
One time, $10 membership fee per angler (this goes to pay for trophy's and the food at the classic... any extra money will go directly into the Classic Pot).
3 fish limit
Classic is currently set for Saturday, September 6th.

Feel free to message me or post here if you have any questions.  This will be our 10th year (8th year at Wabasis) and we always have a good time.

Yup.  If you go to the Kent County Parks website you can read what they have planned.  Supposed to be done by Memorial Day.  But given the weather... might be delayed a little bit.  Hope not.

3 lanes instead of 2.  Putting in an area to tie up your boat while you park the truck as well.  That will come in very handy for tournaments for sure.

Give that lake a rest, that series has destroyed that lake.  It use to be a good lake to fish but now its hard to even get a bite.

I fished this tournament a few years back and I found it just was not competative, I did'nt understand how fishing the same lake every week could help me hone my skills. I checked out Castaway bass and west michigan bass and i find them to be much more sensible. i went with Castaway because i like the idea of fishing their weekends and seeing water ive never seen, beating the same lake over and over does hurt it

Strange... we have no problem catching fish there on all but the worst weather related days in the middle of the summer.  In the spring it's a fantastic lake.  Then again in the fall.  I do know that any water deeper than about 35-40 feet is oxygen deprived so fishing shallow seems to be the key.

Only fished it once but as you said fished it shallow... 1 oz. Weight with a creature bait flipped to the inside grassline and caught plenty of fish with a lot of nice ones mixed in. If it wasnt as lengthy of a drive as it is I would fish a few of these.

Waterfoul and I have fished this together for 3 yrs, and he fished it with someone else before that. We finished 2nd, 1st, and 1st overall in points these years. I don't think we have ever gone more than 2 weeks in a row catching fish the exact same way or place. It's interesting to look over my logs. Our best spot 2 yrs ago didnt produce a thing for us last yr, etc. Almost every week we have to 'figure 'em out' all over. Sometimes we catch 30-40 fish in a 3 hour night, and sometimes we struggle to get a 3-fish limit, but that's fishing. Its about being the best on that lake on that night, then doing it consistently for 13 weeks. Not as easy as it may seem

I Guess to each their own but it seems like the same people winning every year on the same lake could be a reason to change it up and catching that many fish means their mostly small and beat up. Just my opinion maybe it's fine

I believe so but I will check.

As for the "same people winning all the time,"  that went right out the window last year as many "new" names were in the money last year... it was a very competitive club with no one team running away with it.
