We started to run from Ballard to the South Shore. Halfway there we decided it was too rough with those 3-4 footers and that the SS would probably not be very fishable.  We could have kept going because the BassCat was performing beautifully in that stuff, but we figured, "why bother wasting gas for an area we probably won't be able to fish effectively".  So we turned around, pulled the boat out and launched in the North Channel instead.

The channels and river were really disappointing today.  All the way up past Fawn Island the water was brown in consistent patches.  It was really weird to see that kind of inconsistent stain to the water.  We fished a half dozen areas and only got two small ones.  1pm: we got hungry and left the water for greener pastures.

Days like today, I need to get better at checking the bouys for wave heights and either launch in the river in the first place or find a smaller lake.  Lesson to be learned.  Tomorrow on Kent Puddle should be a much easier day.
