One of the speakers at the "Best Outdoor Show" in Taylor this weekend will be Chief Ronald G. Smith of the U.S. Customs Public Affairs Officer.  He will give a presentation of FISHING BOST REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION for Border Crossing.

He basically just went over the current requirements for crossing and the future (June/2009) requirements.

Currently, in order to enter into canada and return to US, you must show one of the following:
a) an accepted picture ID (ie; drivers license) and a birth certificate
b) nexus, sentri or fast card
c) passport card
d) passport

as of June/2009

a) nexus, sentri or fast card
b) passport card
c) passport

You are responsible to report to the Customs (U.S. and Canadian) if you dock, land, or drop anchor in canadian soil.  If you are in canadian water, but do not dock, land or anchor, then technically you never "left the U.S."
