It has already started here in Michigan! Bass anglers launching there boats in small, but growing numbers! Some are catching them. Some aren't.

Who's getting out, and who's going soon?!?

Good luck!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I haven't pulled the boat out yet, but I did fish St. Clair from shore on Sunday.  One small one on a ned rig, but nothing else.  It did see a couple of bass boats out on the lake.  It was so great to get out and be casting into open water for bass in February.  A big thank you to Mother Nature and Dan Kimmel.  Without both of them, bass fishing in February wouldn't be possible.

My aluminum boat is ready to go as soon as the ice is out.  To bad I am 1200 miles away.   Going to miss the ice out blade baiting this year.

Thanks TimH!

Should still be some going on when you get home dartag...

The Detroit River and Erie are Ice free. There was a little ice left in the backs of the canals (as of Feb. 20th). Water clarity was very clear. How are the inland lakes as far as ice-out in your area?

I haven't checked around Lansing yet though I know the Grand River is open and some anglers have already been down there fishing though not catching.
