Hey there- I will be on the AM Outdoors radio show tomorrow - AM 730 in Lansing - around 9:15 AM - I was originally going to be on at some time on my annual topic of urban and local fishing, but host Duran Martinez called me this afternoon because he wants to talk about youth fishing in high schools after reading about the Illinios high school fishing program that may make bass fishing a varsity sport.

I know someone contacted me a couple months ago about the Michigan HSAA showing interest in doing something like this in Michigan. TBF of Michigan will be following up on that. I got some information from national TBF youth director Mark Gintert tonight and I'll take along our youth championship details too along with related topics.

I just wanted you to be aware that the interest is out there. We shouldn't let these kinds of opportunities go lightly. If you want to call in between 9:15 and 9:30, maybe you can get on the radio?

You can listen on the Internet too at http://www.thegame730am.com/ and click the Listen Live button.

That was fun as always. I started out by meeting Michigan's First Gentleman Dan Mulhern - he's big on mentoring (a needed activity) and had stopped by and was asked to talk about Michigan's No Child Left Inside days starting on Earth Day, April 22nd, 2008 and running until April 27.

After that and Lance Valentine's (Walleye 101) live report from the Detroit River, I was on for about half an hour talking about various youth activities, conservation topics and even a little fishing info. It's always interesting to me to see how things work in the radio station so after host Duran Martinez and I were done, producer Brock Palmbos gave me a crash course how running the high tech radio board and touch screen computer (fisherman first, but I am a computer nerd too ;D ).
