Tougher day today on the Inland Waterway, but still some big fish. Mark Modrak wins and is TBF of Michigan 2008 State Champ. Our 2007 National Championship representative, Derek Cummings finishes in a close 2nd with just under 22 pounds. 2007 State Champ Wayne Macklin finishes 3rd with 19-14.

Cecil Cole caught big bass of the event - a 5-11 toad!

The weights dropped off fast compared to the tons of 20+ limits on Saturday, but I think we ended up with a great team for the 2008 Northern Divisional Championship.

I'll get full results and weights up as soon as I get the official sheet. I believe we had 44 boats. Thanks again to FLW Outdoors for helping us with Anthony Wright's excellent emcee work and tournament support.

It was also amazing to receive the level of support and cooperation we did from the great Michigan Department of Natural Resources Parks & Recreation Division and Aloha State Park staff!! I can't say enough for how well this worked out. I think it was very mutually beneficial for us and them!

rough day on sunday, i had 6 fish on that i'm pretty sure were smallies,
and only put 3 in the boat.  for a little over 11#.  not my
best performance.  had a good time up there though and
got a few pics on saturday.

another pic.  i've got good quality ones, not having the best luck shrinking them.

Congrats to Mark. Thank you DNR and Aloha staff. That place worked out great. Flw would be crazy to go back to pier 33. Congrats also to Chad for an unbelievable bag on Sat. Another bed fishing bust for me. That place is tough on co's that time of year. 44 zeroes.

Just wanted to post a short note of "Thanks" to everyone I met last week while prefishing Mullet.  Thanks to my borther-in-law Bill (stackenem) for hauling my butt around the lake at 60 mph.  Caught the biggest smallie of my life 6 lbs 3 oz.  Shared camp with a very nice guy, Willie.  Saw some GREAT boats.  I fish from a Kayak.  And Thanks to all the folks I met around the park, or stopped by our campsite.  I look forward to maybe attending one of these tourneys again in the future.

I forgot to mention a few important things!! Thanks very much to FLW Outdoors and Anthony Wright for working with us using their equipment so our event looked and sounded great despite the rain and wind.

And, we could not have had the event without the tons of hard work by TBF of Michigan board member and state championship chair Brian Belevender. Dennis helped too quite a bit. Thanks so much Brian!!! And Dennis too!

I would also like to give thanks to TBF and FLW and congratulations to the guys who made the team. I on the other hand have a lot to learn on those 2 lakes. Completely different than what I know/thought the fish would be doing and where they were located. Modrak had 2 impressive days and I believe he did it on both lakes.

Well... it'd be boring if we learned everything at some point... especially at a young age...

I should have the official results to post later tonight. I'll get them up as soon as I have them (and I'm not on my day job :) ) I'd list the state team, but I can't remember everyone at this point for sure - still recovering from the wind, the wet and the drive.

I have sent the Results out to the proper people so they will get them posted shortly. I want to thank all of you who came out and fished with us. With gas prices we still had a pretty good turn out. Congratulation to team of 12 and the 1 altnernate. Good luck in the Divisonals on Lake St Clair.

What's with the news these days on the TV and the radio. Can't find the truth amongst the lies. Some talking head that claims to live their life in a better way, says I have to compromise. But now there's something on the rise. Truth has opened up my eyes. There's no running from your dirty lies. You can't avoid the truth. I'll no longer close my eyes.
