Fished an 8 hour tourney on Kent today.  The lake is a Stony Star Wart mess.   Looks like they have sprayed and harvested the whole lake.  What is left is a Dead Mass of Yuk.   The West end is about 2 feet deep and covered in Stony.  .

I am out for fishing there.   If anyone knows another local lake we could go there.  If not I will probably go to White and throw swim baits then go to lunch.

Hmm, well that blows. i just might hit some little lakes west of US23, dirt ramp day

Inland speed limit is 55 mph (unless posted lower). Just a friendly reminder from captain safety...

Does Kent Lake have any topwater places this year? Haven't been there in a couple years. Does Wixom have many 'frog' areas? I can remember a couple smaller areas though it was a good buzzbait at times. I hear it's fishing really good already but what kind of lake is it after the extreme water change??

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Kent had a lot of Dead Stinky mats last Sunday.   We tried frogs for 2 hours and only had one little blow up.   The back bays were barren but at least the water was clear.  They must have sprayed and harvested heavily.  Sad part is the Stony covering the bottom is Bright Green. The spray must not work on it.   Went to a stump field and you don't see any stumps.  They are covered with Stony.

Starry Stonewort is horrible. We are ground zero in Michigan. The issue with Starry Stonewort is chemical treatments only 'burn' the surface so the weed comes right back quick. It's far too thick. Mechanical harvesting isn't practical due to the sheer mass of it, and where do you put it after you harvest it?!? No one seems to know what to do about it. Obviously, keeping it out of a lake in the first place is critical.
