Looks like an early opener (excluding St.Clair) with the 23rd of May being opening day. That is, it's the Saturday before Memorial Day. Anyone heard for sure?

It's always the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend.  C&R on the other hand opens the last Saturday in April for all lower penninsula waters.

Better question would be:

Where are you going to fish opening day???
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

We can all agree that it won't be too soon when it does finally arrive.  C'mon Spring.............. ;)

I'm never overly anxious to fish on opening day. I have the luxury of fishing whenever and wherever, and I don't like crowds. I will be on one of the lakes in Michigan's Great Northwest Corner.
