Anyone know of someone on the west side that repairs baitcasters?  I have a 2 year old Quantum Accurist that is not working and I need to get it fixed.  I think maybe the drag discs went bad or something (of course I really don't know about the mechanical components of baitcast reels).  I can crank the drag all the way down and it still won't pick up line.  The handle just turns.

Do you have braid on the reel?  With backer?

Talk to reelman - you can send him the reel and he will get you fixed up.

Fishmael

I do have braid on the reel.  Never considered it might be slipping.  I contacted Reel_man and he got back with me already.  So, if it isn't the braid slipping, I'll be sending it his way.

Thanks.

Cy

Reel_Man does great work...I was going to send him some reels this year but I ran out of time.

I've sent a number of reels to him on several occasions. He's the only guy I would send reels to. He's the best and the fastest. The Reelman is the real deal!

Reel man gets my vote.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

Thanks Guys,
Cy, it's never to late. remember GLB members get priority on service, so to the head of the list you go, I try and turn them around in a couple of days, depends alot on fishing conditions.
As Seth questioned about backer, I fixed more drag problems by adding backer, it is key. I know this topic has been brought up many times.

Again thanks for the support!!
