Well, I don't like to risk copyright problems or print Big Fish Stories that my be just that... but I can't find anything to back up, verify, or get the source of this brief story and picture (at least the picture looks real).

Here's the story:
"This Sturgeon was caught on the Fraser River just above the Mission bridge two weeks ago. It weighed out at over 1,000lbs and measured out at 11'1". It was 56" around the girth and took over 6 and a half hours for the 4
guys taking turns reeling."

I will say the Fraser River - in British Columbia - is known for some of the largest white sturgeon in the world with fish over 1,000 pounds reported in the past. White sturgeon are 2nd in size in freshwater fish only to the Beluga sturgeon of Eastern Europe (Black Sea area).

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
Unless clearly stated as such, opinions expressed by Dan Kimmel on this forum are not the opinions or policies of The Bass Federation of Michigan.
