Updated 4/16/10
2nd TBF of Michigan State Championship in 2010 to Qualify 2011 Team

TBF of Michigan board announced they will hold a 2nd state championship in 2010 to qualify the 2011 top 13 person state team. The event is scheduled for Sunday, August 29, 2010 on Lake St. Clair out of Metro Beach Metropark.

There will be a $75 entry fee for this event with $10 going towards a 1st and 2nd big bass. I don't know if this next part is true anymore since it was not discussed or brought up at the April presidents' meeting: $25 going towards funding the 2011 state team for shared hotel rooms and an expense stipend to be determined later, and $25 going towards a payback for 14th place and above - 1 of every 6 entries plus 1 will be paid to those who finish 14th on.

In addition to state team benefits (hotel covered, team jersey, travel allowance), the champion of this event will receive the TBF of Michigan Living the Dream package worth $1,250 that includes all entries paid for the 2012 Michigan BFL events requiring you to wear the official jersey and speak about TBF of Michigan at each event.1

Each club still needs to send an equal number of boaters and nonboaters to the event. Dave Reault is the tournament director. More details will be provided as they are announced.

1Angler must sign and follow TBF of Michigan Living the Dream agreement to receive this benefit.

I thought the date was august 22nd? :-\'  I guess we will have to wait for the minutes from the Nov. 1st general meeting before we make that date offical......

p.s. Dan, are you saying the state team has an all expense paid trip to the 2011 northern divitional?  Awesome!

djkimmel

Changes had to be made due to permitting changes surrounding the BFL and the BASS Northern Open, so the TBF event is on Sunday, August 22, 2010.

All expenses are not guaranteed though shared hotel rooms are covered and some type of expense stipend will be provided.

You were at the meeting when I asked Jeff to clarify the benefit. Jeff Cox said the specific 5 sponsors he has for the Michigan Living the Dream package would cover one $1,250 package per year for two years. You'll have to ask your questions directly to him beyond that.

Per TBF of MI president Jeff Cox, this event is being changed to August 29th to follow the BFL that had to change schedule to August 28, 2010.

Correct, which is why I left that part in my original post (plus I called Jeff to make sure I had it right as far as he knows). I'm not writing anything in ink yet this year. Just waiting to see what will happen with all the great many things going on within the industry, economy and changing plans.

I've been holding back on posting some of the information I receive to try to minimize confusion and changes. I'll keep trying to make sure I have things right, but it is always a good idea to confirm things at the sources when you need to be absolutely sure.

Dan,
You may want to update your post as far as entry fees to the St Clair fish off.....Add in the big bass pot....10 bucks (optional) Is the breakdown of the earmarks for the entry fees still correct??

jcox7

The TBF Club Presidents have voted to make the fee for the Fish Off on Lake St Clair in Aug to be 75.00 the fee includes a 10.00 Big Bass pot which will pay for first and second Big Bass and can be won by the same angler.  The 10.00 is not optional it is built into the 75.00 entry fee.  Again this is per the Club Presidents not me.
