Not sure what I need, but I need something. Long story short. Went out yesterday, was out 15 mins and had dead batteries. My habit is to plug in my boat and leave it every time I come home. Found out this time, my extention cord had broke and the batteries never charged. I have a gauge on my dash that says battery, it works with the key on. Not sure what it tells me. Is there something I can put somewhere on the boat to make sure I have a full charge before I head out? Was very disappointed today. Don't want this to happen again. Thanks

Durand Dan

Does your on board charger have lights to indicate charging/fully charged? That is part of my preleaving the driveway check. along with a quick turn of the key to make sure the motor turns. I have in the past taken half of the extension cord with me! ;D

No lights or meter on the charger. Silly thing doesnt even vibrate lol. Works great if its plugged in though.

Mike, it might not be the most efficient way to check the batteries but I have a small tester I bought for like 10 bucks.  I keep it in the boat.  I actually used it just last Sat for a fellow angler that was having electrical problems on a brand new battery.    Jeff
