I need help? :o!! I have a big tourney on the Ohio River, launching from Rocky Point Marina, June 17-18. I have never been there. I expect about 80-100 boats. What is the best map to purchase? I plan on pre-fishing it June 5 or 6. It is off limits between June 11 to the tournament.

If anyone can give me any information I will send you a big? :-*!

Sorry Duke, I can't give you any information, but I am just curious what you find down there.
I've always heard that the fishing is extremely tough.

Please let us know what you find.

Been a while - I have some small map books I bought way back of the river from East of Jeffersonville (I think that's it - across from Loiusville) to the Rocky Pt area that were pretty helpful. I'll have to dig them out and see who produced them - I think they have to do with the Corp of Engineers.

I don't know if Fishing Hot Spots has anything for that area - could be useful.

Rocky Creek was known for a few big bass - Andy Nowyorkas made the 100 mile+ run there during the tournament I was in. Wolf Creek was the hot one though during our event down that way - only a 75 mile run. Milfoil patches and stumps - lots of shad attracting good numbers of bass. This is from 1989-90 though!?!

Besides that (and not counting above the lock and East near Jeffersonville IN) my best spots were for smallies just below the dam near Jeffersonville along the rock bars and humps. I caught a good smallies and lost a couple along the riffles. A number of bass were caught in that area by tournament anglers.

There was a small side creek coming in a short ways below the dam too on the IN side that had a tree in the water at the mouth. One angler sat on that tree all day and ended up with a limit. Lots of current in the area with holes and runs and eddies.

Other than that, there were just a few small grass beds in the main river back West that held some bass, but I don't know that I could remember where those were now. I did much better overall on numbers and quality East of Jeffersonville above the lock. That would be a huge run and risk from Rocky Pt.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
