On Friday, the 9th, my dad and I are heading over from the west side to hopefully slay some smallies.  I know a lot of you probably will be fishing a tournament on LSC, so I won't ask for spots to fish, but will listen for any that you may be willing to share.  I just want to go out and have a good time with my dad.  We do a lot of fishing here, and enjoy every minute of it.  After I got on LSC for the first time this May, I've wanted to get my dad over there with me.  So, how's the fishing?

Mike S.

Come on guys.  Something?  Anybody?

If you're just looking to have some fun there are fish on the mile rds. look in 7-14' you should atleast catch the 2-3 lbs.

I went out yesterday. We started deep (15ft) and it wasn't very productive. Moved in (10-12ft) and caught a few smallies. Caught a couple perch and a nice size walleye. Had a very big fish (thinking it was a smallie) on and it broke my leader. Caught a nice largemouth on a crankbait.

Tubes weren't productive. Only one on a tube.
Minnow baits weren't really productive.

Most productive lure was dropshoting Goby baits and Nemesis were the best.

Thanks guys.  I appreciate it.  We just want to go catch some fish, and let them go to grow bigger.  I bought 3 bags of the Nemesis drop shot gobies when I went over for the DK Open.  I can't use them on any of the lakes i fish here, so hopefully they'll produce over there for me.

This is about the time the river channels start waking up too. Try the mouth of the Middle channel if you get there early in the day. Might be a lot of boat traffic and slow fishing later. If the fish are moving in. Just fish the edges near the first shore (the boat club on the right) and in the channel right around the mouth.

The Mile Roads might be easier. Do you have any of Wayne's Marked Maps?

Nope, no maps.  I am going blind, and hoping for a few fish.  I didn't get over to the mile roads, we stayed in anchor bay the whole day.  I also don't have a gps on my boat.....yet.  But anyways, I'm sure we'll have fun regardless.  I plan on launching around 6 am.

I caught a couple small ones this past weekend near the light houses. Cant miss them if you are fishing near the middle channel as Dan described. 1 came off a white crank, 1 off a drop shot goby.

If you fish Anchor Bay, it can be tough this time of year. Don't forget about largemouth bass along shoreline cover, docks and weed edges. That can be fun!

Try the first shallow sand drop along the outside of Grassy Island too from along the outside of the island towards Anchor Bay south for several hundred yards. It is spotty this time of year, but is structure in a place without a lot of obvious structure.

I like the Marsacs Creek area too. Largemouth, smallmouth and musky hang out there.

I guess I'm going to have to invest in those maps, and a gps.  LSC won't be a lake that I will fish every weekend, but hopefully once a month, so it would be nice to get to know it better.  Man, I can't wait to get over there Friday.  I'm so excited that I'm thinking about calling in to work tomorrow and having a really long weekend.  Good thing my boss is too much of a sissy to bass fish, so he'll never see this. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
