My thumb bar is beginning to be very difficult to push down.  Any ideas?  I got the real at the beginning of this year and it wasn't a cheap one.  I'd really like to make it last.

if it wasn't cheap and less than a year old, i would send it to whomever made and tell them to make it right. i'm sure there's at least a 1 year warranty.

Sounds like a job for Reel Man. He's the best when it comes to fixing reels.

i would take the side cover off and put a little grease on the part that slide's against the casing(u will see but don't push the thumb bar all the way,or at all with the side civer off) u will see were the thumb bar slide's up and down.......but,like the dude said,at the end of the year i would send it back, that piece on a good reel shouldn't really need any grease yours must be cocked some what,i've had that before on good reels that are 5,6,7 years old but it shouldn't be happening this soon...somethings not sitting square????the casing wore a little or something....get through the year and send it back... ;D

Wish I could have just sent it in but unfortunately it is one of two baitcast reels that I own and I only have one spinning reel...  Long story short took the case off and the problem was pretty obvious.  Fixed that, and lubed up everything else inside, and it feels awesome now.  A year is not that long but that sucker has landed some monsters this year ;D
